I am finding that you can find later V6 manual Accord coupes for the price of a 2013 Matrix.
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
I found other examples with less miles that were going for $14.5k or so.
How did I end up here? I don’t fucking know.
Throw me a bone, universe. The sooner I know if I’m getting that promotion, the sooner I can spoil myself.

14-15k allows a very nice variety of oppo approved used cars. Tons of different layouts/manufacturers at that price point.
My G35 was in the same range.

I was looking at old, somewhat suspect obscure Land Cruisers asking 15, 18, 20k even. And I’m like, wait. Why not look at the opportunity cost of such a purchase? And looked at actual modern cars (gasp).

I’m on the same bus man. I’m hinging on finding out if I can go from a $9/hr hour position to a $17/hr position with benefits.

With benefits, to me that’s over doubling your income basically. That’s life-changing income, man. Best of luck.

Just out of curiosity, what are the oppo approved choices in that price range? All I can think of are:
Accord Coupe, G35, 350z, WRX, STI, Miata and s2000

Off the top of my head: Any Audi, Any BMW, Civic Si, Camaro, Corvette C4/C5, GTO, Integra, Any Mercedes, Mustang, Any Porsche, RX-7 (excl FD)/RX-8, and Trans-Am...
Could go on and I probably missed some intermediate ones...

I was thinking of adding the BMWs and Porsches but considering the maintenance costs...not sure they’d still be in that price range.
Civic, Corvette and Camaro are good choices though. Off to craigslist I go.

Zoidberg, Ive driven a V6 Accord coupe in a manual. It is far better than any Matrix. Plus the seats are much better. So much space.

See, this is the problem with portions or getting newer higher paying jobs. They give you money to improve your life and for people like us that means a new car. Props on looking at something sensible.

My mother in law is from Hayward, and I’ve dated three girls from there in my life, my wife being one of them. I don’t much care for Hayward. hahaha

I had a 2008 4Runner that was bulletproof.

That won’t fit in my driveway
![]() 02/21/2016 at 12:58 |

Oh that's right because you've got the truck, the work truck and the Vibe in the garage?
![]() 02/21/2016 at 13:20 |

No the lowly pickups park on the street and the Vibe gets to be completely unblocked. All hail the vibe.
But the actual problem is that the two fence posts straddling the driveway are actually tighter than the driveway itself. So yes, my dad’s MDX fits fine in the driveway but it has about 4” of clearance on either side trying to get in.

I see. Hmmmmm. So you need something skinny and relatively short then?
![]() 02/21/2016 at 13:40 |

Well I’m proposing plans that will widen the driveway past the entrance, but it involves the partial loss of our front garden.
As you can see, this car shopping thing continues to spin in circles.

I'd like to widen mine as well but that requires removing 4 large peramidalis, adding drainage and extending a fence. My wife would rather have a new kitchen. So yeah not happening.
